Goals and Activity

I've decided to self-publish Drasmyr. I keep going back and forth on the decision. But, I really think the traditional publishing industry is in its death throes. I was involved in a big discussion on LinkIn. A lot of people think that the traditional publishing route doesn't offer the services they used to: authors are expected to market and sell their books almost on their own. If that's the way it is, I might as well self-publish.
In other news, I've got two short stories doing the rounds, and a third in the works. I've written a number of short stories that I'm not even trying to market, because, quite frankly, I don't think they are up to snuff. Oh well, live and learn from your mistakes, right? The three stories I mentioned above, however, I am more confident about. A couple of them have been rejected a couple times, but they were positive rejections from a professional market... I got feedback and encouragement to submit again. That is rare in today's world.
